ANNA KEMPE
Anna Kempe was from Finland but learned english and worked as teacher in India, a hundred years ago.

Raining today
Maybe time to write something here also this year. I note that tomorrow days will even longer than the nigt, as we go towards midsummer. This far north midsummer means the sun does not go below the horizon at all.
Right now it seems spring is far away, raining and large piles of snow outside.
I still have a couple of Anna Kempe books in the shelf, should somebody be interested to see what she told about her life in India, 200 years ago, at the Nepali border.

Himalayandream in Februari 2020
Anna started as a schoolteacker in Kronoby here on West Coast, Finland. But when she had worked as teacher for about seven years, she heard about Tibet in China from the priest at that that time in the Church of Kronoby.
She was not afraid to take on a new project and first thing she started with was applying for a missionary education programme, first in Helsingfors and then in London. The education period was around three years before she could travel to India. She could not travel all the way to Tibet, but in the region around Darjeeling in northern India, between Nepal and Bhutan, the people in the mountin villages used several languages, inclusive tibetan. The region vas a valley where people living in mountainvillages higher up in the Himalayas passed by with things they wanted to sell or had bought.
