In Korsholm library there is an ongoing project with a shelf for swapping books, I decided to start one also, at home. So the Anna Kempe book is for sale in Vörå hemslöjd r.f for 25 euros. I also sell it here at home for the same price, and the other books in the shelf for about 5-10 euros. Because I every week swap 1-3 books in Korsholm, I will make new photos of my "homeshelf" with Anna Kempe and the new books I have added to the Collection that week.
Also in Instagram I tell more about the books that at the moment are in the home bookshelf.
En blogg om Anna Kempe boken. En berättelse om en kvinna från Finland som ville bli missionär och hennes studier för att nå sitt mål: Att få fara till Indien och jobba som lärare. Resan till Indien förberedde hon med språkstudier i engelska. Anna Kempe was from Finland but learned english and worked as teacher in India, a hundred years ago.

Anna Kempe learned tibetan writing together with a young man. Together they translated the Bible and had their own christian magazine. Anna would certainly had been on Instagram also had it been possible in her lifetime.
Anna started as a schoolteacker in Kronoby here on West Coast, Finland. But when she had worked as teacher for about seven years, she heard about Tibet in China from the priest at that that time in the Church of Kronoby.
She was not afraid to take on a new project and first thing she started with was applying for a missionary education programme, first in Helsingfors and then in London. The education period was around three years before she could travel to India. She could not travel all the way to Tibet, but in the region around Darjeeling in northern India, between Nepal and Bhutan, the people in the mountin villages used several languages, inclusive tibetan. The region vas a valley where people living in mountainvillages higher up in the Himalayas passed by with things they wanted to sell or had bought.
